About The Spine Center
The Spine Center, Lansing Neurosurgery's sister facility, is an "all in one" option for pain treatment. Board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians collaborate with physical therapists and massage and acupuncture providers to offer rehabilitation, sports medicine, physical therapy, pain management, spinal injections, massage and acupuncture.
The Spine Center features 10,000 square feet of physical therapy space, a large heated pool for aquatic therapy and an on-site pain treatment facility where our physicians perform injections to alleviate pain and conduct EMG tests to diagnose nerve injuries and disorders.
Karen Litos Woodman, MPT, specializes in obstetrics physical therapy. She has post-
graduate training and certification along with extensive experience treating pregnant
and postpartum women throughout the Greater Lansing area. Karen developed a
comprehensive physical therapy protocol for The Spine Center based on current research
and best practices (what really works) for treatment of pregnant women suffering from
pain and endurance issues within the guidelines of the APTA and the American College
of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Karen evaluates and treats women through all phases
of pregnancy and post-partum for back, sciatic, neck, pelvic and other pain syndromes,
deconditioning and endurance issues. She also has ten years experience as a rehab
therapist treating patients with neurologic and orthopedic injuries in inpatient acute care
and rehab settings and has post-graduate training through the American Physical Therapy
Association in Stroke Rehab.
