About Lansing Neurosurgery
Lansing Neurosurgery, a Centis Health partner located in East Lansing, Mich., is the premier provider of neurosurgical services in the Mid-Michigan region. Our board-certified physicians treat brain and spinal disorders and trauma using the most appropriate surgical and non-surgical techniques, including minimally-invasive spine surgery, to restore our patients to their best health.
Since 1969, Lansing Neurosurgery physicians have worked to establish strong referral relationships with doctors throughout Michigan, becoming a neurosurgical resource serving the community around the clock.
Dr. Bill was inspired to become a doctor by the example of his grandfather, a physician and surgeon trained at Rush Medical School in Chicago and awarded the Silver Cross from King George V for his service to England in the battlefield hospital in Givenchy, France during WWI. Before completing medical school, Dr. Bill earned his doctorate in anatomy and taught neuro-anatomy at the University of Kansas, histology at the University of Michigan and endocrinology and human anatomy at Michigan State University. His research required microsurgery of the pituitary gland. Upon completion of his residency was invited to join Lansing Neurosurgery. Dr. Bill enjoys the challenge of neurosurgery and the opportunity to use all of his sub-specialty training. Although his expertise is in surgery, Dr. Bill enjoys working with patients in the many aspects of non-surgical medical care.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Bill teaches medical students, residents in surgery, emergency medicine and neurology. He also lectures on diagnosis and management of head-injured patients. His spare time finds him with his wife and four children or outdoors enjoying Michigan's many sports. Favorites include swimming, biking, sailing, skiing and working outdoors. Dr. Bill also plays the electric bass.
