Biography

I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree at Michigan State University while working three or four part-time odd jobs. Then Kares Construction Company of Lansing Michigan hired me for a professional internship and my career in construction management took off from there. With my new bride Renee, I settled in the town of my alma matter. Soon our family grew to include two children.

After twelve years in the institutional construction business, I was presented a new opportunity at Gougeon Brothers Inc. Always up for a challenge, I accepted a position in management and moved to Bay City, Michigan. I strive to make the company and the world a better place, one can of epoxy at a time.

What began as an iceboat building venture in 1969, Gougeon Brothers developed a remarkable epoxy resin formula which is now sold and used worldwide. Nearly forty years of advances in construction techniques using epoxy-bonded materials have revolutionized boat building and set new standards for performance and reliability. Leading builders are building stronger, lighter, more durable boats with epoxy composite construction.

Pro-Set Inc. (current)

Pro-Set offers epoxy products for the fabrication of strong, light weight composite structures. The Standard product line includes laminating systems, adhesives, fairing compounds and process equipment. The Custom products group comprises laminating systems (including thixotroped resins, toughened and very slow cure systems), fire retardant resins, a barrier coat, and specialty adhesives.

Kares Construction Company

Specializing in commercial construction, both of new buildings and structures and in the renovation of existing projects. Occasionally, the company does design as well as build, but the majority of its projects come to them with plans in place. Kares works primarily within a 50-mile radius of Lansing, MI but have also completed work in Wisconsin and Tennessee.
