Each year thousands of the worlds foremost leaders in the field of lighting gather at the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair to share their ideas and see the future of the lighting industry. With well over 2,000 exhibitors, the event is one of the largest in the world, and since it is aimed at connecting businesses with customers, it draws all of the major corporations.

One of the special focuses of the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair in 2011 is the “LED and Green Lighting Zone” which will feature the products aimed to “cater the strong demand for LED, energy-saving and other environmentally friendly products”. LED Manufacturers are going above and beyond this year to impress the more than 30,000 buyers that are expected to be there. It will most certainly be a shining example of that what the future of lighting will have in store for us.

The extent of the reach of LED lighting is growing by the month, and at the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2011, where so many buyers can connect with all a wide array of manufacturer, this is sure to result in another step forward for the “green” technology. In recent months we have seen LED lighting emerge as a staple in horticulture applications and it’s anyone’s guess what industry could be transformed next.

If you would like more information on the event you can follow along on Twitter (@HKTDC or #HKTDC), or travel to Hong Kong and see it for yourself. You’d better hurry though, because the event is currently happening and runs until this Sunday.
